So, this post has nothing to do with feet, but that’s because, at Podiatrist Perth, we care about your holistic health and want to equip you with information to keep yourself and your family happy and healthy!
Can you believe it!? Week one of being back to school is already over here in Perth! Oh, how the year is flying by, it will be time for Christmas shopping soon! Well… maybe we’re getting a bit carried away here.
That being said, back to school means the need for school lunches. And while it can be really easy to grab a pack of chips, a muesli bar and a sandwich as your kids run out the door in the morning, we all want the best for them. This starts with giving them a nutritional lunch that can keep the fuzzies away and ensure that they stay focused throughout the day.
We want to prove to you that healthy doesn’t have to mean hard. Therefore, we’ve gathered a few super easy recipes that will give your kids the healthy start they need but won’t require you (or them if you’re teaching them to be independent) to spend hours preparing their lunches.
**We’re adding a disclaimer right here that none of these are our own recipes and by all means urge you to check out the following talented bloggers for more fun recipes!**

2. DIY Taco Lunchable
- To make this exciting little meal by One Hungry Mama, you only need 4 ingredients, mince, shredded cheese, corn chips and salsa. While you do still have to cook mince, it literally takes about 5 minutes to do this. Sprinkle a little bit of seasoning on the mince, we recommend a little bit of Ol del Paso seasoning. If your kids like black beans, feel free to mix that in with the beef as well. Add a little bit of any type of cheese your kids like here. Next, get some whole grain corn chips, which you can easily find in the health foods section at your nearest supermarket and pop those in there too. Finally, for the tomato salsa, chop up a couple of tomatoes, an onion and a little bit of coriander. If your kids are up for adventure include a few jalapenos in there too but this is not necessary! Add in some lime juice, salt and pepper and mix!

3. Quinoa Salad
Make sure to cook some extra quinoa the night before, and lunchboxes are sorted for the next day! Simply add in all your favourite fruits (dried or fresh) for example blueberries or pomegranates and herbs and lunch is sorted. (via Brit + Co). This is so easily varied with any veggies you can find in the fridge. Quinoa also goes great with avocado, tomato and cucumber, if that’s something you might like to try as well!
If your kids aren’t big fans of quinoa, you can always substitute it for brown or black rice!
