Bibubulmun Track
Starting from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills and stretching nearly 1000km all the way to Albany, this may seem a bit more ambitious than an average trip to the park. You may be thinking “yeah right… my kids would probably start crying after walking 10 minutes. However, we would advise you to seriously consider it.
With all that pent-up energy from staying indoors, why not pop on some gumboots and raincoats to head out on a day filled with excitement, adventure and exploration in the wild outdoors. Whilst we do agree that a 1000kms would likely prove to be too great a challenge, there are smaller tracks available that will provide the same sense of adventure for the kids!
For little legs, we recommend no more than 5km and would suggest this only be tackled by ages four and over.
These tracks include
• Asher Rd to Hewett’s Hill Campsite – East of Perth (beginner)
• Brookton Hwy to Brookton Campsite – South of Perth (beginner)
• Perth Hills Discover Centre to Ball Creek Campsite – North of Perth (intermediate)
Additionally, every year the Bibubulmun Track hosts a three-day Teen Trek. Here teenagers get the opportunity to camp in the wilderness and experience hiking with other teens. This takes place between 11 – 13 July. If you want more information head to their website.
Bounce
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you’ve heard of BOUNCE INC. Though you might be concerned about a place that allows squealing kids to launch themselves into walls (covered by trampolines of course!), we believe that this is one of the most fun indoor escapades in Perth! This mighty fun trampoline park, suitable for all ages will release all that build up energy from being couped up inside, whilst guaranteeing a pure awesome time!
